Bad Date Advice: Tips For Keeping Yourself In Check
If you’re throwing yourself into the dating pool of today, then you’re going to eventually have to deal with a bad date experience. It happens and it’s the nature of the best. When it comes to a bad date, there’s a right way and a wrong way to go about things. It’s all too common for people to mislead one another with their antics, quirky remarks, and goodbyes following a crappy date.
Hear me out…It doesn’t have to be like this.
I’ve been using dating sites and mobile apps for years, literally. In doing so, I’ve had my fair share of bad dates but I never ended them in a shady or shitty manner. If you’ve done so in the past, then that’s okay, nobody’s perfect. But you want to start ending your bad date the right way. It’s good for both parties if you do, trust me.
Which is exactly why I’ve come up with a list of things that you should consider doing when you end a bad date. This is not necessarily a complete list, but one that can and will make a difference. In fact, ending it in a hostile manner or a downright rude way can lead to getting banned via the dating network. I don’t care whether you’re using a mobile dating app for sex or some mainstream marriage matchmaker type site. Ending the bad date is one in the same.
Some Bad Date Advice That You Should Take
Like I said, keep in mind that this is applicable to everyone out there no matter what site you’re using, your gender, your sexual preference, whatever! Read the tips, take them seriously and become a better person for doing so or don’t and just be an ass, that’s your choice I guess.
Stop Lying
If you’ve just wrapped up a really bad date and you’re not planning on connecting with the person again, don’t lie and say that you want to meet up with them again.
Even if this is just a no strings attached hookup, don’t say that you’re going to text them and that you want to meet up with them again for some fun. Trust me, no one is going to be pissed off or heartbroken if you don’t want to meet up or see them again.
It’s only been one bad date and that’s no cause for someone to get emotional. No one is going to be mad, you’re not going to get in trouble and you will not look like an asshole if you tell the truth. Remember, you don’t have to tell them the date sucked you’ll never call or text, just don’t say that you will if you’re not going to do so.
Don’t Drag It Out
If a bad date is going really, really, really bad then there’s no sense in dragging things out. The lingering can be painful for both you and the other person as well. Maybe they think it’s going just as bad and they’re trying to be polite about it.
Don’t just ditch out and run off either. That’s a total dick and bitch move. You can simply tell them that you apologize but something came up and you’ve got to cut the date short. Let them know that it was nice meeting them and move on.
That’s it, really easy and quite simple as can be. I guess the only way you’d want to drag it out is if you stupidly hired one of the Nightshift.co girls to spend time with you (not recommended BTW). In which case, you’ve paid for it so you might as well get your money’s worth.
Don’t Promise More Sex
If someone starts to cling or they seem like they want more than just a one-time thing and you’re not looking for more, don’t promise them everything under the stars. I know some people that keep these cliffhangers around just because they know that it’s a guaranteed lay.
Look, if you’re not into it, then don’t be into it. In fact, get out of it fast if that’s the case. Make no promises of hooking up in the future unless you really mean it and want to bang more. If not, dont’ say so, they won’t take offense.
Be Nice
Your mother taught you to be nice to people right? Well, the same applies to people that you end up going out on a bad date with. The rule of thumb is to not be a complete dick to anyone if you can help it.
The saying that nice guys finish last isn’t always the case. Sure, that saying is applicable in business and other settings, but when two people are trying to connect via a hookup network, then that changes things dramatically.
Even if you have the worst experience ever with someone, there’s no reason to be a complete and total dick. Be nice as you’ll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Well, that about sums up everything that you need to know about ending a bad date the right way without looking like a complete asshole. I guess now’s the time to tell you that if you’re not using casual dating apps, then you probably should start doing so.
They take the edge off of things a bit and make it less stressful especially when it comes to dealing with bad dates. Check out this app here before using any others and give that a shot. I’m sure you’ll do just fine. Just please don’t be an asshole, the world has plenty of them already.
