The presentation of BlackPeopleMeet.com is impressive. A video plays on the front page when you visit the site that is high quality and entertaining, but it never quite lives up to its image in functionality. The website is owned by People Media. The same company as Match.com, Chemistry.com, and OurTime.com. It’s basically the same site with a different niche. I had tried out both Match.com and Chemistry.com before and did not like the results.

This gives them an excuse to populate their site with fake profiles and send you fake messages. I have seen these kinds of practices more times than I can count and BlackPeopleMeet.com is no different.

Another way they deceive you and create fake profiles to fool other users is reusing all your profile data. When you sign up you agree to allow the site to take all your information and use it to create bogus profiles to fool others. This means that they are not only fooling you; they are using you to fool other people.

I remained optimistic as I signed up for BlackPeopleMeet.com hoping that I would have a different experience than I did on Match or Chemistry.com. Sadly, the same things started happening.

I started getting messages and chat requests from beautiful black women, but I could not respond unless I signed up. This is where you should be careful. If you enter your credit card info and proceed without looking closely, you will be charged a full 6 months of membership. You must manually change it to a 1-month membership.

If you get charged for the 6 months by accident, you will not be refunded. Anyway, once I got in, it was just as I suspected. None of the women who wrote me initially would respond to my messages.
