One of the most popular online dating site niches is cougars or MILFs. HookupCougars.com is one of the many sites that hopes to capitalize on its popularity. There are more bad dating sites than there are good ones, so I am always looking for another great cougar site. This one is not it. Something told me that I was not going to like this site when I arrived on the main page and saw that there was photo of a model to represent the site and she is not a cougar at all. She is a gorgeous young model who is likely in her twenties. I’m not sure the creators of this site quite know what cougar means because I got inside and saw that there were many members in their twenties. Read my full review below and you will see why this site does not come highly recommended.
Hookup Cougars Dating Site Review and Scam Exposed
You are promised a free basic membership and you register by indicating your sex, the sex you are looking for, and your zip code. The next page asks you to add your e-mail address, what type of relationship you are looking for, your birthdate and username. This is where I found out all I needed to know about the validity of this site.
Just above the Make Me a Member button is a paragraph that mentions Online Cupids. This is one of the main terms that raises suspicion in online dating because there are a great many dishonest sites that use it.
Fantasy Profile Admittance
They admit in this paragraph that they are fantasy profiles operated by the site for entertainment and compliance purposes.
They claim that they interact with you to encourage full participation in the site’s services, but this is a bad excuse for creating fake profiles and sending you fake messages to make you think that you are going to have a real online dating experience.
Completing Your Profile
The next registration page asks you to fill out some profile information. You enter an into title, intro text, and describe what you look for in a person.
This is the last step in the process and this is where you find out that the only way to view all profiles, send messages, have access to live video chat, or watch cam shows is to pay for an upgraded membership.
The Money Grab
They try to tempt you into paying by offering only a 3 day trial membership for $1.95. If you look just below the price, you will see that you will be charged the full monthly price of $29.95 after the 3 days. This monthly charge will continue to come out of your account until you cancel.
Online Cupids
The biggest disappointment came when I entered the HookupCougars.com. All the profiles that are Online Cupids are clearly marked at the top. The first couple of rows of profiles were marked either Featured Show or Webcam Star.
Both are webcam feeds that you must pay extra for. The rest of them were all Online Cupids. Needless to say, I was glad that I didn’t pay for a full membership. I searched through page after page of nothing but fake profiles that were marked as such.
Conclusion: Why Pay For This Service?
I hope that you will not and you will recognize the warning signs like I did before you waste your money. Almost every profile is false and many of them are not even cougars. Sites like this really anger me because they don’t even try to make a good presentation to fool you.
